China Academy of Safety Science
and Technology(CASST)
China Academy of Safety Sciences and Technology(CASST) is an organization under State Administration Work Safety of China (SAWS). As a national Academy , founded in 1980 and named as Institute of Labour Protection of Labour Administiration. After the government reorganization in 1998, six departments of the institute were transferred to State Economic and Trade Commission of China and national center of major accident investigation, so was born the CASST. Since 2001 CASST was changed to be a branch organization of SAWS.
Major roles that CASST plays are as following: Technological supporting to SAWS; promoting the development of safety science & technology, education, and trade; providing services for enterprises related to work safety technology, information and management etc.
There established six general management departments and twelve special sections in CASST.
The work team has a good science and technology background that could rank as top level in China in work safety area, which consist of senior research fellow 47, include 20 doctors, they are energetic, creative, diligent and team working.
